• Prairie Lincoln Elementary was built in 1957

• An addition was built in 1961

• During the summer of 2003, new ceilings and light fixtures were added throughout the school

• The north side of the building received new windows during that time as well

• The school was named in honor of the township (Prairie) and village (Lincoln Village) in which it is located

• Lincoln Village was developed by Nationwide Insurance, Murray Lincoln was the president of the company

• Abraham Lincoln's profile is used on the village sign

• The community resident's association newsletter is The Rail-Splitter

• Prairie Lincoln Elementary houses grades kindergarten through 4

• Enrollment is approximately 500 students

• There are 33 teachers, 15 classified staff members, and one administrator at Prairie Lincoln

• Staff has received special training in the following: balanced literacy, everyday mathematics, classroom management, social skills, and the integration of computer technology into the curriculum
