Westland High School, home to over 1650 students,
has been rated by the state of Ohio as an effective
school for our performance on the 2004-2005 Report
Card.

We made
significant academic increases in Social
Studies, Math, Science, Reading, and Writing and
achieved a 90.8 on the performance index to gain
this rating.

In 2004-2005, Westland received the Gold Rating as a
Governor’s Choice Buckeye Best Healthy School.

that Westland’s policies and practices reflect a
high priority on healthy outcomes for your
children.

Two recent
graduates have qualified for the exclusive
United States Naval Nuclear Program.

The Accelerated
Reader program has been instituted to assist
students in surpassing grade level expectations.

Our staff
voluntarily attended multiple professional
development opportunities over the summer to
improve classroom performance.

staff have reached or are actively pursuing the
new Highly Qualified Teacher status in multiple
content areas.
